The Black Forest Festival is taking place on August 8th, 2026. This year’s festival theme, Star’s, Stripes, and Tall Pines, marks 57 years of the Black Forest Festival and celebrates two historic milestones: – 150th Anniversary of the State of Colorado- 250th Anniversary of the United States of America

Each year the volunteer festival committee puts out an open call for local Black Forest Artists to submit a logo design for the Black Forest Festival that represents the theme. The committee received some fantastic designs, and selecting only one was a very tough decision.

Meet the Artist… For the past 25 years, Michelle has called Black Forest home, where she and her husband raised their three sons and now enjoy life with their two golden doodles. She teaches art through the Cottage School Program in Colorado Springs, sharing her love of creativity and artistic expression with students of all ages. In her free time, Michelle creates oil paintings inspired by the beauty of nature and wildlife, drawing influence from the landscapes and quiet moments found in the Colorado outdoors.
